BUILDING SERVICES AUTHORITY INFORMATION SEMINAR (OCTOBER 2008)

 

On Tuesday 21st October Linda attended a Building Services Authority information seminar to assist people who are considering or undertaking building work.  Here she is pictured with David Benson who is Manager of the Education Division at the BSA.

 

 

 

 


 

PINE RIVERS COURTHOUSE OFFICIAL OPENING (SEPTEMBER 2008)

 

On Saturday 13th September Linda had the pleasure of being master of ceremonies as her 'baby', the Pine Rivers Courthouse was officially opened by Premier Anna Bligh.  Linda was also joined by Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Kerry Shine, State Member for Aspley Bonny Barry, Glass House Carolyn Male, Murrumba Dean Wells, Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Alan Sutherland, Councillor Mick Gillam, Senator Mark Furner.

 

 


 

PINE RIVERS PARK Q150 PROJECT (SEPTEMBER 2008)

 

On 12th September Linda helped Local Government Minister Warren Pitt inspect the progress of the Q150 Legacy Infrastructure Project in Pine Rivers Park.  Also in attendance were Member for Aspley Bonny Barry, Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Alan Sutherland and Councillor Mick Gillam.

 

 

 


 

FOSTER CARER FUN DAY (JULY 2008)

 

On Saturday 5th July 2008 Linda attended the Foster Carer's Fun Day at Pine Rivers Park.  The day was organised by Member for Aspley, Bonny Barry and was designed to encourage more people to become foster carer's.  Some of the attractions included a jumping castle and a petting zoo.  Also at the fun day were Minister for Child Safety, Margaret Keech, Minister for Emergency Services, Neil Roberts, Member for Sandgate, Vicki Darling and Member for Stafford, Stirling Hinchliffe.

 

 

 


 

DAYBORO DAY FESTIVAL (MAY 2008)

 

On Sunday 25th May, Linda attended the annual Dayboro Day Festival.  The theme for this year's Festival was "Say G'Day at Dayboro Day".  The day started with the Combined Church Service and was followed by the Dayboro Day Art Competition which Linda helped judge.  Linda also helped to present the Community Awards.

 

 

 


 

LIONS LIFE SKILLS CENTRE OFFICIAL OPENING (MAY 2008)

 

On 21st May 2008 Linda attended the official opening of the Lions Life Skills Centre at Lawnton.  The centre has 6 units to house young, single parents while teaching them essential life skills.  Linda helped Senator Claire Moore and Past International Lions Club President Frank Moore III officially open the facility.  Lions Youth Emergency Accommodation Centre received $60,000 towards the facility.

 

 


 

ENDEAVOUR LAWNTON ADULT TRAINING SUPPORT SERVICE NEW KITCHEN (May 2008)

 

On 9th May 2008 Linda was present to officially open the new kitchen at the Lawnton Adult Training Support Service.  The Service received funding of $26,180 from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.  The new kitchen has improved the appearance of the centre and has made it more functional for service users to use the premises and participate in activities offered within the centre.

 


 

BRIBIE ISLAND AND REDCLIFFE COMMUNITY CABINET (APRIL 2008)

 

On 27th April 2008 Linda attended Community Cabinet held at Bribie Island and Redcliffe.  Here she is pictured with Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Michael Choi MP, Spectrum CEO, John Hart and his wife. 

 

 

 


 

McML AUSTRALIA LTD MEET THE LEADERS SESSION (APRIL 2008)

 

On 22nd April 2008 Linda attended a meet the leaders session at McML Australia Pty Ltd.  The sessions were designed to give Railway Signalling trainees access to leaders in the local community.
